You could buy any number of amazing bottles of wine that will work wonderfully with your Valentine’s Day plans, but you’ll get extra bonus points by finding a bottle that really reflects the romance of the holiday!

LVE Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley, CA, $80

LVE is a celebrity wine brand owned in partnership by musician John Legend and Raymond Vineyards. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Petit Verdot sourced from Rutherford, St Helena, Oak Knoll, and Yountville. The wine has been aged for 19 months in French oak barrels (36% new oak). As expected from a Napa Valley Cabernet, this wine has alluring aromas of black fruit, caramelized figs, dark chocolate, and cedar.

Mollydooker Carnival of Love Shiraz

McLaren Vale, Australia, $80

I have been collecting Carnival of Love since the 2007 vintage. It is one of my favorite Aussie Shiraz’s from one of the best producers in the region, known for their eye-catching labels. They guarantee the quality of their wine by rating it on its Marquis Fruit Weight™ – the measure of how far back on your tongue the velvety sensation of fruit goes. This is an opulent wine offering a full spectrum of flavors from cherry compote to melted chocolate to sweet spice.

Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc

Marlborough, New Zealand, $25

Harvested in the cool Marlborough mornings, the grapes for this wine are hand picked then fermented on wild yeast in a combination of concrete eggs, clay amphorae and neutral old French oak barrels. The result is a complex and textured wine with pineapple, passionfruit, guava and sweet meadow grass aromas.

Love You Bunches Rosé

Central Coast, California, $23

This rosé made from 100% Grenache is carbonically fermented, which is a wine-making technique that uses whole bunches of grapes so fermentation can begin inside of each uncrushed berry. This results in a fresh, fruity style of wine. The simple, whimsical label is the perfect fit for this fun, happy wine. “Uber high toned, as if a Good Humor Popsicle made a deal with the devil to make their strawberry shortcake fresh with a citrus zing. Floral breezy, and delicious.”

Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Brut Champagne

Champagne, France, $250

Nothing says love more than Champagne, and there is no better day to splurge on a phenomenal bottle than Valentine’s Day. Rather than a traditional bouquet of flowers, wow that special someone with this gorgeous bottle decorated with a graceful spray of Japanese white anemones created by Art Nouveau master Emile Gallé in 1902. This vintage Champagne is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Meunier. It is aged for 6 years on lees (yeast), giving it deep characters of pastry, brioche and almond biscotti along with aromas of preserved lemons, elderflower, white peaches.
